Welcome to Identium (“we”, “our”, “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use our mobile application (the “Application”).
The short version: there are no accounts and no passwords, your profile, garden and photos live on your device, and nothing is sent to our AI providers until you have explicitly consented to it.
Identium was previously called Plantium. It is the same application under a new name, and this policy replaces the earlier one published for Plantium.
There are no user accounts. The Application has no sign-up, no sign-in and no password, and we never ask for your email address or phone number. We do not collect your contacts, precise location or health data, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and the Application contains no advertising.
Identification, diagnosis and care plan generation all require sending data to our AI providers, so the Application asks for your consent before the first one runs. Until you allow it, nothing leaves your device for those purposes, and analytics collection is off. You can change your decision at any time in Profile > Privacy. Some features are unavailable without consent, because they cannot work without it.
A photo you submit is saved in the Application’s own storage on your device, and a copy is sent for analysis at the moment you submit it. That request passes through our Cloudflare Worker, which holds the API keys and forwards the image straight to the AI provider.
We do not keep your photos. Our backend streams them through and stores nothing; it retains only rate-limit counters and a short-lived cache of your subscription status. Once the analysis comes back, the only copy that remains under your control is the one on your device, which you can delete from the Application. What the AI provider does with the image while processing it is governed by that provider’s own policies, linked in the table below.
We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini (via our own backend) | Identifies plants, diagnoses problems, writes care plans and daily tips. The app never contacts Google directly. Requests pass through our Cloudflare Worker, which authenticates the device and applies a rate limit. | The photo you captured or picked, and your quiz and profile details |
| Replicate (via our own backend) | Generates the illustration shown with your ideal-plant quiz result. Same proxy, same rate limiting. | A text prompt derived from your quiz answers |
| Firebase (Google) | Analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration and App Check, so we can see which features are used, fix crashes and keep the backend from being abused. | Anonymous usage, performance and crash data |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscription status and validates purchases made through Apple. | Purchase data via Apple StoreKit |
The Application never talks to Google or Replicate directly. Every AI request goes through our own backend, which verifies that the request came from a genuine installation of the app and enforces per-device rate limits.
Your profile, quiz answers, garden, wishlist and plant photos are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user accounts and we do not store your photos or profile on our servers. Analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google’s data retention policies. Uninstalling the Application deletes all locally stored data.
You can clear your garden and reset your onboarding and quiz answers at any time from the Profile screen. Since we do not maintain user accounts, uninstalling the Application removes everything else. To request deletion of analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the email below.
We use administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your information, including keeping every API key on our own backend rather than in the app. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the information you provide, please be aware that no security measure is perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against interception or other misuse.
The Application is not directed at children. In line with our Terms of Use, you must be at least 16 (or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher) to use it, or have verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us immediately.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the Application and on this page.
